While watching the show I realized that the set up for the base is not good but it does the job but it seems to be incapable of launching more than a few teems at a time (safely mind you). As well as another couple really big things are that the current setup is hard to defend as well as extremely hazardous to receive any kind of fire. Also its cramped when doing anything to the point of preventing any kind of large scale operations(30 men+), or vehicles honestly I don't know how the (M.A.L.P) probes get into the room. But the current layout does have a couple of good things going for it.
1st of all the size prevents any kind of large scale attack being usefully pulled off but it makes defences weak and undermanned or too grouped where a single grenade could wipe out the entire defensive line. 2nd is the standard defences are able to easily pull back without much movement. 3rd a layered defense where the gateroom is set up to stop a few enemies but then be abandoned if a large group tries to make their way through then hit the enemy at the choke points leading out of the room. But after that there really isn't much other than some blast doors to prevent free movement without a keycard. Some of the other current equipment and layout are a crane system that goes straight to the surface and a small hanger that is big enough to store a jumper that's in the gate silo above the briefing room.
If Stargate Command is gonna survive it needs a full redesign to allow more of everything to go through the base to prevent the destruction of Earth.
